ProLeiT at Anuga FoodTec 2022: Sustainable automation solutions for the food and beverage industry

Anuga FoodTec 2022 from April 26 to 29, 2022, will feature around 1,000 exhibitors from more than 40 countries. The organizers of the international supplier fair for the food and beverage industry, which is held every three years in Cologne, Germany, postponed last year's event until this spring due to the pandemic.

At Anuga FoodTec, the focus is firmly on solutions for all phases of the process chain. That said, energy efficiency and environmental protection are also set to take center stage this year, as the energy transition and rising energy prices are also presenting the food industry with new challenges. In addition to renewable energy and its decentralized generation, which can help companies cut operating costs and CO2 emissions, the industry is also on the lookout for efficient production solutions that achieve the desired resource savings.

As part of Schneider Electric, our mission at ProLeiT is to make a clear and positive contribution to a more sustainable world. We are therefore looking forward to presenting our innovative automation solutions to trade visitors at the Schneider Electric booth (Hall 5.1 / Booth C-028). The focus of our activities at this year's event is primarily on the new system version 9.80, which offers innovative features and optimizations. Schneider Electric will also be showcasing an array of IIoT-enabled hardware and software solutions that allow food processing companies to operate more sustainably and, thus, more successfully.

There will also be a diverse range of extended opportunities to network virtually with ProLeiT and obtain information about our products as part of the Anuga FoodTec @home digital platform.

Upgrade 9.80: New functions for maximum productivity

A key feature of the new system version is the availability of Modicon from Schneider Electric as an additional controller platform for Plant iT and brewmaxx alongside Siemens Simatic and Rockwell Automation ControlLogix. With this innovation, ProLeiT enables more than just simply networking global production sites with various controller platforms. Plant operators also benefit from hassle-free maintenance and significantly lower service expenditures.

Further features of the V9.80 include:

  • A new automation class for Altivar frequency inverters that enables direct and fast access via the web front end.
  • An innovative batch orchestration system that can be used independently of the controller platform and offers various functions such as order processing, batch tracking and recipe, parts list and material management.
  • Mobile process operation with Smart Control & Smart Units that enables process monitoring by means of mobile end devices and provides plant operators with valuable support in the event of problems, maintenance and plant expansions.
